Biography

In the fall of 2004, three young metalheads decided to found the band PORTA INFERI. In Penzlin, a small village between Rostock and Neubrandenburg, in the north-east of Germany, the band gets a practice room and the first seven songs took form. After a while the band hits the stages in the north-German areas. PORTA INFERIs base changed from Penzlin to Neubrandenburg, to be closer to the active metal scene. After several Line Up-Changes , a new devise was made: “fuck the past, look in the future!”

In June 2009, the first recordings took place. The song “The Battue”, recorded under professional Circumstances at the LSD-Studio, was the start to record a whole album. Ten songs where recorded at “Shredsound-Studio” in the winter of 2009. As the Artwork was done, the album “Guillotine”, was released at the 1st. of June in 2010.

Since 2009, the band gets routine by playing a very lot of gigs in Germany. Furthermore the first Video Clip was shot by the famous director Ronald Matthes (Roax Media) and was released on youtube.

At the end of the year 2013, PORTA INFRI will begin to record their second album. In this year the band welcomes new member, a new frontman joins the line-up also a new drummer, to raise PORTA INFERI to a five men Outfit. The Band is working to top the amount of gigs from year to year.

The album „Chronicals Of Human Failure“ was released in 2017.
After various live performances, very close companions unfortunately said goodbye. Boener and Sam left the band in 2018 and were not replaced for the time being. It was not until 2021 that the two founding members John and Bran became permanent members of the band again, so drums and the second guitar were also taken up again. Unfortunately, Thomas left the quintet in 2022 for personal reasons and Chris has also taken over the mic again since then.
A new album is being planned.
The first songs are already finished and the planning of live shows is in full swing.

Im Herbst 2004 beschlossen drei junge Metalheads, die Band PORTA INFERI zu gründen. In Penzlin, einem kleinen Dorf zwischen Rostock und Neubrandenburg im Nordosten Deutschlands, bezog die Band einen Proberaum, und die ersten sieben Songs entstanden. Schon bald tourte die Band durch Norddeutschland. Um näher an der aktiven Metal-Szene zu sein, verlegte PORTA INFERI ihren Sitz von Penzlin nach Neubrandenburg. Nach mehreren Besetzungswechseln wurde ein neues Motto formuliert: „Scheiß auf die Vergangenheit, schau nach vorn!“

Im Juni 2009 fanden die ersten Aufnahmen statt. Der Song „The Battue“, der unter professionellen Bedingungen im LSD-Studio aufgenommen wurde, markierte den Beginn der Albumproduktion. Zehn weitere Songs wurden im Winter 2009 im Shredsound-Studio aufgenommen. Nachdem das Artwork fertiggestellt war, erschien das Album „Guillotine“ am 1. Im Juni 2010.

Seit 2009 spielt die Band regelmäßig Konzerte in Deutschland. Ihr erstes Musikvideo wurde vom bekannten Regisseur Ronald Matthes (Roax Media) gedreht und auf YouTube veröffentlicht.

Ende 2013 begannen PORTA INFRI mit den Aufnahmen zu ihrem zweiten Album. In diesem Jahr stieß ein neuer Frontmann und ein neuer Schlagzeuger zur Band, wodurch PORTA INFRI zu einer Quintett-Besetzung wurde. Die Band arbeitet daran, die Anzahl ihrer Konzerte von Jahr zu Jahr zu steigern.

Das Album „Chronicals Of Human Failure“ erschien 2017. Nach diversen Live-Auftritten mussten sich enge Weggefährten leider trennen. Boener und Sam verließen die Band 2018 und wurden vorerst nicht ersetzt. Erst 2021 wurden die beiden Gründungsmitglieder John und Bran wieder feste Bandmitglieder, wodurch auch Schlagzeug und die zweite Gitarre wieder zum Einsatz kamen. Leider verließ Thomas das Quintett 2022 aus persönlichen Gründen, und Chris übernahm seitdem wieder das Mikrofon.
Ein neues Album ist in Planung.
Die ersten Songs sind bereits fertig, und die Planung der Live-Shows läuft auf Hochtouren.
